There are times when we seek clarity

WHEN SUPPORT CAN HELP

I work with adults on an individual basis.

Areas I work

  • Difficult feelings: anxiety, panic attacks, depression, anger, fear and numbness.
  • Self-worth: low self esteem, feelings of worthlessness or not being good enough, inner criticism.
  • Loss and change: grief, chronic illness, life-changing events, or feeling stuck and wanting to move in a different direction.
  • Relationships and sense of self: relationship difficulties, and feeling unsure of who you are or what matters to you.
  • Addiction: work, sex, porn, food, gambling, drug and alcohol use and misuse.
  • Mental health conditions: I have experience working with a variety of diagnoses, including 'personality disorders', OCD, bipolar and schizophrenia.
  • Neurodivergence: ADHD and all its variants, Autism and those on the spectrum.
  • Trauma and early experiences: many people I see are survivors of trauma or have experienced early developmental or attachment issues.

Identity, difference and discrimination:
Some of my clients experience difference in terms of race, culture, sexuality, gender, class, religion, neurology or ability. I have experience with intersectional identity and the impact of power, bias and discrimination. My practice is anti-racist and anti-discriminatory, and I welcome people from all cultures and those who identify as LGBTQIA+.

Adult adoptees:

I have a particular interest in working with adult adoptees. Many people adopted as children go on to lead happy and successful lives, and many also carry difficult feelings of rejection, abandonment or confusion. Some experience difficulties with identity, attachment and relationships. Others struggle with a need to be perfect, or with a sense of never quite fitting in. Therapy can offer a space to explore these experiences, and to make sense of what adoption has meant for you.
